Living in Florida has many perks. While the rest of the country is gearing up for the changes that fall and winter bring, we’re able to sit back and enjoy the temps just the way they are! This is the perfect time of year to get your family outside to enjoy a day in the sun. If you’re looking for some creative ideas for how to entertain everyone, we know of a couple of games that’ll be a blast.
Scavenger Hunt
This might be the most creative idea we’ve got. Give your kids a chance to exercise physically but also mentally when you challenge them with clues and items to search for. All you have to do is head to your backyard or nearest park, and write down exactly what you want everyone to find. After you’ve split the kids into two teams, give them something to store what they collect, and see who can find the most items listed! Whoever shows up first with everything on the list wins.
Frozen Tag
This is probably a more unique version of regular tag that you’ve already heard of. But just in case you need a refresher, here you go. Players who are tagged by the person who is “it” must stand still with their legs wide. That person has to stay still until someone crawls through their legs, while also running from the person who is “it.” This gets everyone moving and guarantees those higher heart rates!

Outdoor Bowling
This is pretty self-explanatory — bowl with your family right in your very own backyard! Fill empty water bottles with water or sand, and let these be the “pins.” Just like in regular bowling, put the bottles into the shape of a triangle and grab any kind of ball to be your bowling ball. See who can knock the most pins down. The best part of outdoor bowling? No special shoes required!
