Spring break can only mean one destination – the beach! Packing up for the beach can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. With sand everywhere, electronics and water not being a good mix, the risk of sunburn, and tangled hair, it can sound like the least relaxing trip. Although, you can be prepared with these eight beach hacks to help you kick back and relax.
1. Plastic Bags are a Must
Protect your phone, Kindle, or other devices with a plastic sandwich bag. You can still use the touchscreen through it, but you don’t have to fret about water damage or sand getting in the cracks of your device.
2. Baby Powder is Your Best Friend
Sand can be so hard to get off of skin, especially wet skin. Baby powder will help eliminate moisture from the skin, making it easier to shake and brush the sand right off of you.
3. Chapstick Tube for Valuables
Though you probably did not wear any valuable jewelry to the beach, think about having cash on hand and how dangerous it can be to have it in your beach bag when you need to step away. Using a Chapstick tube to hid your money is a great way to disguise cash so no one can take it.
4. Relief Sunburn with Yogurt
Oh no! You forgot Aloe Vera and now you’re burnt to a crisp and need some relief. Head to the fridge, whip out some yogurt and slather it on like you would aloe. After about 10 minutes, you should have some relief.
5. Aloe Vera Ice Cubes
If you did not forget the aloe vera, here is a way to amp up the relief you feel when using it: Create aloe vera ice cubes with an ice cube tray. Rub those all over your body and feel instant relief.
6. Protect the Straws
Sand in straws can seem impossible to rinse out. Use a toothbrush holder to protect your straw when refilling your drink.
7. Sew Pockets on Beach Towel
No more weighing down your towel with sandy shoes, coolers, or books. Try sewing some pockets to keep other items in the corners of the towel. This is a great storage idea for the beach, and it will also serve as weights to keep your towel from blowing away.

8. Eliminate the Knots
Use coconut oil, lavender oil, and water in a spray bottle to eliminate those knots in your hair. It will also keep your hair frizz-free and very hydrated while being exposed to the sun.
