Say Goodbye To The Sand In Your Car With These 5 Hacks

Happy family running on the beach

Happy family running on the beach

With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, you know that means less time at home and more time in the sand. It sounds delightful until you can’t find a way to leave the sand at the beach and your vehicle becomes a sandbox. Sand can be one of the most annoying things to remove and clean out from carpet mats and seats. Although, there are ways to prevent the sand from entering your vehicle and ways to ensure it stays at the beach where it belongs!

Shake Everything Out

First, everything that has touched the sand, from towels to beach blankets, clothes, and chairs, shake out each item vigorously. These items are usually pretty hard to get sand off of but shaking them out will help. If you really want to avoid the extra work of having to shake out huge blankets and long beach towels, use a beach chair instead. Beach chairs can be rinsed off with water which makes clean-up that much easier.

Invest in a Beach Brush

You may be thinking, that sounds fancy and expensive. Although, a beach brush can be a bristle paintbrush, makeup brush, or even toothbrush to get in small places. Any kind of brush with bristles works! Use your beach brush to brush off your feet moments before you get in the car. This is a smart, easy, and fast way to clean your feet before heading home.

Can’t Go Wrong with a Cover

Sand is guaranteed to stick to you. No matter how hard you try, there are going to be times you can’t get it all off of you. Therefore, think about covering your seats with old sheets, towels, or blankets to help keep the sand that falls off of you in one place instead of in the seats.

Spray, Rinse, Repeat

As mentioned earlier, items like beach chairs, sand toys, and coolers can be rinsed off in a beach shower. All of these things are easy to forget and will no doubt cling to the sand.
