When you think of pumpkin, you likely imagine pumpkin pie. While pie is delicious, there are other ways to use pumpkin as well. Try these autumn recipes to enjoy some pumpkin.
Pumpkin and Bacon Mac and Cheese
For lunch or dinner, consider this upgraded mac and cheese.
To begin, heat oil in a small skillet, and then cook your sage leaves, so they are crisp before taking them out. At the same time, boil your pasta in salted water. Then, put your empty skillet back on medium heat and melt butter in it. Next, add finely chopped sage and flour. After a minute, whisk in pumpkin puree and milk. Now, let it boil before bringing it down to a simmer and letting the sauce thicken for about four minutes.
Then, take it off the heat. Add cheese to your skillet by the handful, followed by salt and the pasta. Put your crispy sage leaves on top before serving.
Pumpkin Bread
Just like pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread is a classic. This recipe is simple yet delicious. Best of all, it tastes like fall.
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees while you prepare a loaf pan. In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients. These include salt, nutmeg, ginger, baking powder, baking soda, flour, and cinnamon. In another bowl, add vanilla, eggs, pumpkin puree, sugar, melted butter, and sour cream and mix with a hand mixer.
Now, slowly add your dry ingredients to the wet ones. Remember not to over mix it. Instead, only stir until combined. Now, put the batter into your pan, and if you want, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top. Put it in the oven for 50 minutes or an hour.
Pumpkin Butter
For something you can eat with any meal, make a batch of pumpkin butter.
First, grab a slow cooker. Then, add canned pumpkin, sugar, brown sugar, apple cider, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and vanilla to it. Next, stir everything, so it is smooth. Next, cover your slow cooker and set it to high. Let it cook for two or three hours, stirring it hourly. Once you like the texture, put it in a mason jar in the fridge.

Pumpkin Soup
If you want to stay warm, try pumpkin soup.
To start, grab a Dutch oven or heavy soup pot. Heat oil in the pot at medium heat, and then add garlic and onion. Meanwhile, prepare your pumpkin: halve and peel it and remove the seeds. Then, cut the rest into chunks and add them and some broth to your pot. Don’t forget salt and pepper.
Next, boil the contents uncovered. When it boils, reduce the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes. Finally, take the pot off the heat and use an immersion blender to mix it. To finish, add some cream.
