For those of you who live in Florida, chances are you don’t anticipate much snow this holiday season. In fact, you’re probably accustomed to not seeing snow at all throughout the year. Even though you might experience a lack of snow, it doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy the holiday season and all it has to offer. In fact, there are plenty of events you can attend in and around the Destin, FL area.

But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. While December is around the corner, it’s currently November which means you’ll want to take advantage of all this month has to offer. Since Thanksgiving is always a great time to be surrounded by family, why not spend a bit of time with your friends at the 2019 Turkey Trot? About the 2019 Turkey Trot

The 2019 Turkey Trot will take place on Saturday, November 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Boathouse Oyster Bar located at 288-B Harbor Blvd East, Destin, FL 32541. Although it’s known as the Turkey Trot, there won’t be too much running involved. In fact, this 0.5K event isn’t your usual run.

You will walk, jump, and skip up the hill to the partnered stops that you’ll visit along the way. At each stop, a new activity is waiting for you and your friends.

For instance, some of the hilarious and exciting activities you’ll be participating in include the following:

  • Who can eat the most donuts?
  • Who can make the shot when throwing toilet paper rolls?
  • Who can shoot a screwdriver faster than anyone else?

In order to receive bragging rights for the next twelve months, you’ll want to cross the finish line before anyone else! This fun “relay” race provides a unique experience that will leave you and your friends laughing for hours. Tickets for the event cost $30 and are currently available for purchase online. Support A Good Cause

If you want an extra leg-up with the race, be sure to bring a 20lb bag (or bigger) of dog/cat food as a donation. The food will go to support the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society which helps local animals find a forever home.
