You don’t have to wait until Halloween to take your family trick or treating, because the Crestview Public Library will host a special event in their parking lot before the big night. Get your costumes ready and bring your treat bags to the library’s Trunk or Treat 2019!
When and Where
You and your family can attend Trunk or Treat at the Crestview Public Library on Tuesday, October 29. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Trunk or Treat cars will fill the library’s parking lot, and you are welcome to volunteer your vehicle to participate. Just contact the library, and be prepared to have your car in the lot by 4:30 p.m. that day. Crestview Public Library is located at 1445 Commerce Drive, Crestview, Florida 32539. Entry to this event is free.
Trunk or Treat
Cars across the lot will open their trunks and load them with candy and other snacks, and Crestview kids can roam from trunk to trunk to trick or treat in a safe, family-friendly environment. Drivers can decorate their trunks, truck beds, and hatchbacks with pumpkins, ghosts, webs, and other spooky accents, and kids are welcome to dress in their Halloween costumes. There will even be a special prize for the evening’s best trunk and best costume, so get creative!
Halloween Costumes
If you want to get the whole family involved in preparing for the event, you can let them help with a homemade costume. There are plenty of cute and clever do-it-yourself costumes ideas out there to get everyone in on the fun. Kids could brighten up the neighborhood as Mr. Rogers, or set trends as a little hipster. With all those cars in the parking lot, the wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube man would look right at home.
The library staff would surely get a kick out of this librarian costume, and this literal bookworm might get a laugh as well. This is the perfect opportunity to dive into a good book for costume ideas, and you can find inspiration from classic characters like the colorful Rainbow Fish or the Cat in the Hat.
