Hoops For Hope

Hoops for Hope

The annual Hoops for Hope is back for 2019. This year’s event will be at the Northwest State College Raider Arena on Saturday, July 20, starting at noon. As always, Impact Emerald Coast will run the event, which benefits a good cause. Admission will be just $5.

Who Is Playing

The basketball legends who used to play with Choctaw High School will be playing against the former greats of the Crestview Bulldogs. You can also expect a match between the top alumni players from Niceville High School versus the legendary alums from Fort Walton Beach High School. Overall, this is a great way for basketball fans to see their favorite alums from their local high schools show off their skills for a good cause.

Raising Funds for a Good Cause

The money raised by the event will go to support local families who have children battling cancer. Your attendance and donations can make a significant difference for these kids and their families, giving them one less thing to worry about and bringing smiles to their faces. This year’s event will be supporting the family of Kaylee Gordon. This 10-year-old is in fifth grade at Elliott Point Elementary. She lives with her mom and two siblings in Fort Walton Beach, and she is fighting acute myeloid leukemia. Kaylee recently spent six months in the hospital for treatment, staying brave the entire time.

There Will Be a Raffle

As in previous years, Hoops for Hope 2019 will also feature a raffle. This is a great way to support the cause while also getting a chance to win. Impact Emerald Coast will announce more raffle prizes as the event approaches, but one of them will be a Bote HD Aero Bugslinger Inflatable Fishing Paddle Board. There will also be vacation packages available in the raffle.

The raffle tickets cost $5 each, or you can get five for $20. You can buy the tickets online by donating the appropriate amount and indicating it is for the raffle. If you buy online, grab the tickets at the gate at the event. Or you can head to Rakish Fellow Barber Shop at Uptown Station or Prime Lending in Niceville, Destin, or Shalimar for raffle tickets starting July 1.

Hoops for Hope is a true community occasion, just like always. This year, the Nathan Abbott Team from Resortquest will be the sponsor of the event, providing the necessary funds to get it ready for attendees and players. Luckie Media Solutions, Prime Lending, and Sport Clips are also sponsors. Northwest Florida State College and its Athletic Director Ramsey Ross are also involved by offering up their venue for the occasion.
