Admission and Hours
You might expect visiting the Emerald Coast Zoo to be an expensive trip, but that’s far from the truth. Admission is relatively inexpensive, which makes this zoo a great place to visit when you’re looking for an inexpensive day trip. Adults and kids ages 10 and up pay $10 for admission, and the little ones ages two to nine only pay $7. Children two years of age and under get in for free. There’s also a discount for military. Of course, you can also get a membership to the zoo so you can go whenever you want. If your family loves visiting the animals, this may be the way to go.
From Tuesday through Sunday, the zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Keep in mind that it’s closed on Mondays.

Animal Encounters
As you would expect, there are a ton of animals and great activities to participate in at this zoo. For example, you can meet – and even pet – a sloth. How fun is that? If you want to get a workout while you’re there, you try out the goat yoga classes – the goats will jump all over you the whole time. You can even feed a lemur, those adorable creatures from Madagascar.
Ever wanted to learn more about birds? You can get up close and personal with them and even feed them a snack. If you want to see how things look from up above, try riding a camel. And if you’re feeling really adventurous, you may want to try your hand at training a lion.
